The "end" in the lyrics means the end of his own life, how he cannot come back from that and he will have to accept the fact he's dying and reaching his end, Causing him to reflect upon his own life.

The concept of "the end" is addressed uniquely in each story, nevertheless, they are equally impactful. The story in Everyman is carried on by God giving the subject a scare tactic and ultimatum. Robert Frost writes lyrically; there is a contrast within his words and the harmonious flow of the poem. Matchbox 20 writes with apathy and gloom, but the song is the opposite of lethargic.
-Eduardo

In all three texts, the end is addressed as a judgment of all of one's actions. In "Everyman", we follow him on his journey for redemption and find that everything he's every done whether it was good or bad, has been evaluated and stacked up. We can get that same idea from the song "How Far We've Come" in the line "Let's see how far we've come." This line is a question to all asking about the good and bad they've done since the moment they entered the world. In the poem "Fire and Ice" Robert Frost talks about how hate and desire affects your judgement.-Samuel
