When answering political knowledge questions in 2008, "young people were correct only 20 percent of the time whereas people over 65 were correct more than twice as often" (Government in America 4).

Analysis: Young Americans are less knowledgeable on the governement and politics. Analysis: As political news competes with entertainment, many young adults are not aware of currents events going on in politics. As they are distracted by other forms of entertainment, they become politically ignorant. This ignorance prevents them from actively participating in politics and from seeking knowledge about politics.
