On one side of the cartoon are lumberjacks, and on the other side are citizens and animals of the forest. The citizens are holding sides to get out and leave us alone. If the lumberjacks were to cut down the rest of the forest there wouldn't be any oxygen left.

C) I think it is a terrible thing to cut down trees and eliminate oxygen supply. Especially now that there is a massive usage of fossil fuels/ carbon in the atmosphere. We need to use trees sustainably. A good way to start is to stop clear cutting and start shelterwood cutting or even selective cutting.

On the wall it says there’s whales, tigers, and other animals meaning the animals we have today gone extinct too song with trees in their present day.

C) In order to live a life without oxygen tanks and have animals living in there habitats that’s for them. We have to reduce the use of trees for everything and use different materials that can be used just like wood or improvise using things around us for shelter and tools.

A) by: Peter Welleman, date: 2009-01-22, issue: Over-fishing

B) The cartoon talks about overfishing to the point where a species is about to be extinct, as well as how horrible and corrupted pollution is that even the skies are grey and dark. It also talks about the rivalry between corporate brands and more local and sustainable brands. it shows how hypocritical this issue is that even though they are doing so much harm, they get angry and blame the people who are helping. Even though the fishing ship is affecting the environment so much, it’s ironic how they are getting mad at others when they should be looking at (their own actions) themselves.

C) This shows that our actions can really harm others. This relates to sustainability and how we can do better and how we don’t need to consume as much. This comic Also shows how we should look at ourselves and how we can be sustainable instead of shaming others who are not as sustainable. It also shows that if we learn to be kind to one another, that could help us empathize on why we should be sustainable.

a) Marty Bucella, 2019, Plastic Waste

b) this cartoon shows two whales talking about how they shouldn't eat more plastic waste in the ocean so that they can save their appetite for their actual diet. this cartoon also shows a lot of plastic floating all around them.
the artist is demonstrating the effects of plastic waste and the pollution that we cause everyday. our marine life is getting too heavily affected by the waste we produce, so much to the point where their diet is getting ruined.

c) this is significant to sustainability because it's telling us that we have to reduce the platic we use and make smarter choices about how we dispose of our garbage. I also agree with the artists view on the topic because it's important to sustain and protect our ecosystem.

A) Logging (2002, Signe Wilkinson)

B) This comic describes how people are logging places and think that it is good. In the comic a man is seen destroying a whole forest while saying, "There! That'll prevent forest fires!" The man thinks he is in the right by destroying trees and preventing forest fires but in reality, they are making it worse. This shows how people really think they are in the right solving a small problem but creating a bigger one.

C) This relates to sustainability because they are making the forest non sustainable for eco systems to live. Destroying the trees just for their own good. This not only makes ecosystems unsustainable but these type of activities may not ever be reversible. So, that guy thinking he is doing good is actually killing an ecosystem just because of his fantasy. The sad part is this does work. Doing this works but hurts more than any wildfire.

Chris madden 2011-06-08 Over fishing
a)	This cartoon depicts a man fishing in an empty pond that looks like our earth thinking about the lack of fish. The other thought bubble reads “ but I thought this pond was bottomless.” There are no more fish in the oceans and this man thinks that the earths waters were bottomless. The artist is showing us that society believes that earths natural resources in the oceans is not infinite. If we continue to over fish we will run out of those resources very soon.

b)	My opinion on the subject in relation to sustainability is that we need to keep our waters full of natural resources and sustain the oceans ecosystems. The significance of sustaining our waters is that we won’t be able to use the species in the oceans to keep us alive as a society. In order to sustain these resources, we will need to stop over fishing and allow populations of fish and other living organisms to grow and replace our mistakes.

B) This cartoon depicts a man teaching the importance of trees vs a group of people who don’t see why we need to protect trees and why deforestation is such a big issue. We need trees to live, breathe and to help filter our atmosphere. I think the artists goal is to bring awareness that deforestation is real and it’s only a matter of time before we have very few of those beautiful green trees you see in this picture. Hundreds of thousands of trees are cut down daily and we each can make an impact. It takes one person to make our world even a little better of a place.

C) This cartoon relates to sustainability because it shows how many people really don’t realize the importance of protecting our trees. If we all think how these group of people did we’d have little to no trees which would be very difficult to survive as trees give us the oxygen we need to live. In order to stop this world wide issue we need to stop cutting down as many trees and plant more.

Some animals have no where to live because of this. When we cut down trees, humans don't even replant half of them. Animals now have less and less places to call home because humans keep taking the trees. Animals also have less places to go because humans have taken other ecosystems away too.

c) If we don't replace the trees we cut down, we will eventually run out of trees. While a carrot wouldn’t actually become alive realistically, the comic shows us that GMO’s can be harmful to us and aren’t completely natural. Its even said in the meaning of GMO’s that any plant experimented on with GMO’s aren’t natural (Genetically Modified).

C) The comic may depict that GMO’s are bad, along with several sources with the same argument, however I don't think they’re awful. I’ve been eating food with GMO’s all my life, and I’m still told that fruits and vegetables are good for me with or without GMO’s. Not only are the foods with GMO’s still considered healthy, but it makes growing fruits and vegetables easier. The plants are able grow with less water, energy, and pesticides, and it takes significantly less energy to grow plants with GMO’s rather than without, which makes the lives of people trying to grow these plants easier.

a) Author: Trevor white, 10-10-2017, Deforestation

b) The cartoon depicts a man at a natural history museum wearing an oxygen tank on his back and an oxygen helmet on his head. He’s looking at a tree. This means that at the time of this comic trees are a part of distant history and everyone gets their oxygen artificially. The man also has a curious look on his face meaning he doesn’t know what a tree does/did. The artist is demonstrating the long term effects of deforestation through this exaggerated comic. The artist made the comic to warn the readers that if we don’t sustain the amount of trees we have now they’ll become a part of the past very soon.

c) This relates to sustainability because the artist is sending a message to the reader that if we don’t sustain the vast amount of trees we have now, there won’t be many trees left in years to come. We need to sustain the resources we have now so they can be used for a longer time. And use more efficient ways to use tree wood such as not cutting down all the trees in an area or for companies to plant as they cut.

A) 2008 the 7th of December an artist that goes by the name of Stan Eales drew a poster that shows people sitting on a log while a teacher is pointing at a sign with a tree on it in the middle of nowhere, this shows that maybe in the future that the newer generations won't know what a tree is so then the teacher has to show them one, and how there is no classroom so they have to use the chopped up woods leftovers as a seat and a classroom

B) the issue in this pic is that in maybe in 50-60 years our trees will all be gone or not in our era but some people won't have any trees in their surroundings to know what are trees, and how they will stop wood imports from other countries anymore so they will use the logs that are still left and use that as a classroom and the logs will be the seats

C) it shows that no know cares about our climate and we need trees for our oxygen and more necessary in our life but we also need to stop cutting them and help them grow until they hit their peak and then harvest them later

a) cartoonist- Kendra Allenby
uploaded 10/4/2020

b) this cartoon is basically saying that the choices we're making now can really affect how things will be in the future. If we keep doing the stuff we're all doing now it will have really bad consequences to our earth. If we continue to keep mistreating the environment (forestry) in 10-20 years the earth will not be the same and it will become harder to live.

c) this cartoon relates to sustainability because if we continue to make these choices forests will become harder for eco systems to survive. I think that we should all be trying harder to keep in mind the things we do on a daily basis so that it can contribute to making the environment a better place. To allow this to happen everybody would need to take part and take action to save our earth, although not very many people care much about this stuff, a little can go a long way.

A) Cartoonist: Kyaw Thu Yein
     Published: 2016-1105

B) The cartoon is showing a man holding a fishing rod being pulled away by a fishing net filled with fish. The cartoon is trying to explain that fishing at mass amounts is taking over regular fishing. The net being filled to the brim with fish portrays that we are taking too much fish from the ocean, and that we need to cut down on the amount of fish we catch everyday.

C) This relates to sustainability because this cartoon shows that if we continue to fish unsustainably, there won’t be any more fish in the sea. Maybe if we reduced the amount of fish we receive from the ocean, there could be some for the future generations.

A) Cartoonist: Trevor White

Published: 06/28/2020

B) The cartoon shows a man ready to have a picnic on a beach. The beach is seen to have a lot of garbage on the ground. The garbage is showing us that our earth is carelessly being littered on, and the man ready to have a panic on a beach with a lot of litter comes to show that seeing garbage on the ground is being normalized.

C) This relates to our sustainability because if we continue to pollute our planet then this is what it will look like some day. Polluting water can have our trash come back to our beaches and pollute them, making it just ugly to look at. We have to stop using the earth as our garbage can if we want our beautiful planet to healthy. We all need to do our part to help the earth!

a) Harry Bliss published May 4 2014, deforestation

b) This cartoon shows a man cutting down a tree. The tree looks sad after it was getting cut down. The man looks scared after he cut down the tree. I think the issue here is that the man is removing our air supply by cutting down trees. Another reason is that he is causing forest deforestation by removing the tree.
I noticed that there will be less rain which will result in less water irrigation.

c) this relates to sustainability because it shows us that we need to stop cutting down trees because if we don't we won't have fresh air or water

In this cartoon, there is a single fish left in the visible ocean. There is a small boat that is crammed with people trying to catch whatever they can. The fish looks concerned, which likely references the damage overfishing causes to ecosystems and the harm it does to the ocean life.

I feel that this cartoon is trying to provide a look into the future we face if we keep overfishing. If, when fishing, we take more than our sustainable yield, the entire ocean will feel the effect. Since all creatures rely on each other, removing excess or even all of a species will totally throw off the surrounding ecosystem.

This political cartoon is saying that we have been warned for a very long time about climate change and the effects of climate change have been right in are faces for the longest time. This also shows the factory’s in the background that are producers of pollution not changeing at all and in fact i they got worse because you can see the trees in the back slowly die as the time goes on from the 1970s to the 2000s

My opinion on this cartoon is that more people need to take action on helping to solve climate change. More people in todays time are trying to reduce the effect of climate change but the big company’s that are the main producers of green house gases are not stopping at all the only real way to stop these big company’s is to stop buying there products if there is no costumers they while have no choice but to stop mass producing these green house gases witch are causing climate change.
