In the 1960s and 1970s, research on nature was established, leading to the need to learn to write and read scientific and technical texts. During this period, the Oil Crisis took place, and English became a business, leading to the search for "profitable courses with clearly defined objectives" to address new challenges. In 1978, with the launch of the book "In English for Specific Purposes," the learning-centered approach was proposed.

According to Laborda (2015), Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have become a cornerstone of ESP in our time, providing handy tools, both online and offline, for learning English. Examples include the traditional web, social media, and websites dedicated to teaching languages, such as English specifically. Chats, forums, online dictionaries, videos, podcasts, blogs, and so on, help users of these platforms improve their skills in their chosen areas, paving the way for using English for specific purposes.

We can understand that as future teachers, we have many options for teaching English, charting a course course direction in our profession, specializing in a specific field, and therefore improving the quality of teaching, but also the learning of our students. From my point of view, this is what the Teaching English for Specific Purposes course aims to achieve: learning how to focus.
