Realistic Fiction Narrative- Olivia B.

A part of your narrative “The Speech” is how well you describe Kayla’s emotions. The part where you wrote, “This felt worse than when those bullies beat me up, it felt like one million punches in the same spot, my heart.” This really showed the pain of losing a loved one because of someone else’s mistake. I also loved how you took my suggestion and didn’t repeat the sound and time of her alarm and took more time to describe her nerves about the speech she had to give. One wish is that you spend more time on having the same pacing throughout the story. Some of the story doesn’t make sense because it goes really fast and then some parts go really slow. Overall, this is a great story.

In the begining of your story I was pulled in by your hook it was great how you sort of skipped to the end of the story and told the reader a little bit of what they were to expect. I like when you showed how Kayla Banks was upset a little when the little girl on the street was fighting with her father and she said quietly but rudely to herself that at least you have your father A Wish I could make is that you explain at the end what happened right after she gave her speech. But overall I loved your story.
