  • Introduction – The movie surrounds a man with an intellectual disability, who is fighting for custody of his 7-year-old daughter.
  • The Challenge – Sam had to prove he was competent enough to provide and take care of his daughter. So, meanwhile the court took his daughter and placed her in a foster home.
  • The Solution – Person-centered planning and a bigger support network. 
  • The Benefit – Through this he was better able to care for his daughter.
  • The Result – Sam got primary custody of his daughter Lucy.

    Robert, Ifty and Joe: Sam's best friends would come over to go out to eat and shopping with Sam and Lucy. They also attended all of Lucy's birthday's and sports events.
    Rita: The Lawyer helped properly dress Sam for court. She also helped him find a new job and encouraged him to keep fighting for Lucy.
    Randy: Lucy's foster mom stepped back and decided to coparent with Sam.
