Zanesville, Ohio's Terry Thompson made national headlines when he released a horde of wild animals that he and his wife kept on their property, and then killed himself -- leaving the gruesome task of trying to control endangered Bengal tigers, monkeys, lions, wolves, baboons, and more.

The police ended up shooting nearly 50 of the animals in an effort to stop them from terrorizing Thompson's town -- and while this may be the most horrific story of exotic pet ownership we've heard lately, it's certainly not the only one.

I know the story of my father’s friend, who had a snake as a pet. She had slept with it during almost 4 months. She said it was harmless and extraordinary. But at the end it was extraordinary dangerous! The snake was just analizing the movements of the woman and getting ready to hunt her! One night, the snake rolled over her neck and tried to kill her while she was sleeping. Fortunantely, her brother entered the room and took rapidly the snake away from her. Never have a snake as a pet!

When I was 9 I was hanging out with my friend at her family’s small farm. They had just got a rooster, I thought he was pretty so I wanted to go look at him.

He seemed to not notice me, and because I didn’t mess with him, or try to scare him, he let me get close up to look at him.

Next thing I know this possessed bird from Hell was frantically flapping his wings, uttering a war cry. I turned my back and started to run away. This enraged beast flew up off the ground, just high enough to latch his talons onto my shirt. I could feel this digging into my back. I screamed and ran faster… he dug in deeper, ready for the ride of his life.

I fell forward, my friend began to scream too. Her mother ran out and removed the maniacal bird from my back. He had defecated all over my shirt and tore holes into the fabric.

Her mother walked me home, as we just lived a few hundred feet away.

To this day, I have a profound fear of poultry and birds.

Some years ago, it was about 10 am in the morning and I went out for a while outside my house with my dog, after a while outside I go to the side of my house to see if my neighbor was there when suddenly my dog starts to growl and barking in front of me as if something was behind me, I was scared by the behavior of my dog, every time the seconds passed my dog got desperate and I did not know the reason, when I was about to turn my dog bites my arm and he pushes me as he could because of his size, and saves me from being bitten by a coiled snake with his head raised pulling bites, seeing this I ran with my dog to tell my family, I ended up intact thanks to my dog, oddie from that day always my loyal dog always takes care of me

I was at the house of my parents' friends. I went for a walk with my sister and we saw an owl. I got very close to the owl and she looked at me, and she began to spread her wings while making noises, I think she was trying to intimidate me. Later, I returned to the house because I did't know if the owl was going to attack me.

Oye day I was walking my dogs with my skateboard and they saw another dog so they got excited and started running. I started to panic and when I didn't realize there was hole in the street, my skateboard got stuck and I flew like a bird.

When I was 8 years old with my family we went to Tatu Carreta that it was like a zoo. We were near the cocodriles, and it was like a cage between the public and the animals. So I went to close to the cage and the crocodile look the chance and tried to pass through the cage but my dad realize the crocodile intention and grab me to take me far from the cage. I never ever went close to a cage.

Once upon a time Cata and her cousins were at the park cycling when they saw a nest of owls, there was her cousin's dog with them. So they decided to go away, but the dog scape, so they rase it, untill they found out the dog was already in the nest. They started to throw sticks to stop the owls as they were hurting him. When finally they stop fighting, the dog was all in pain, they decided to return home. Few days later the dog end up dying for all the injuries caused by the owls

Last weekend, I went with my family to the mountains (well, not literally, we rented a house IN the mountains)
So the following say of our arrivement, at 7 am, I went to explore the mountain, and I found a group of sheeps.
I had a bread from my breakfast, so I wondered how would they react if I offered it to them. And so I did, and they really liked it.
The thing is that, the following day, the sheeps appeared at my door, asking for bread again.
The sheeps weren't a threat, but it's the only weird or interesting thing that happened to me with animals.

We were on the countryside and a man was trying to trapp a cow. He started waving the rope on the air and threw it against it. As the cow started to get mad, it ran against the man. Luckily, there was a stake, si the man hid behind it and didn’t get injured.

When Martí was little, she was at her grandmother's house. Her grandmother had a dog. When they finished having lunch, she decided to play with the dog. They had been playing for a while and the dog jumped over Marti and bite her face. She had blood over her face and that left a little scar on the right part of her face.

Once I was in the park with Matilde we were going back to my house when I see a dog and I start talking to the dog in a cute way when Matilde tells me “don’t get near the dog, he will bite you the face” i didn’t do what she told me to and when I get near the dog he starts chasing me trying to bite me, I start running and screaming and Matilde dead “Pilar, don’t move, like that he will obviously chase you 🙄” and Mati got a rocks to throw it to the dog but the the dog went to another place so Mati couldn’t use the rock.

One day we were with Frani in the countryside and my sister was walking in the park and she was taking on the phone and when she turned her face down to see the floor there was a snake. She quickly run and shout. We desperated call my dad, so he could trapped and kill her. But was to late because the snake hide in a hole in between rocks. Later that day my father was with a still stick and a shovel waiting in the hole were the snake was hiding. My father asked for fire, so with the smoke the snake will go out of the hole and then there he could trapped her and kill her. When all of the sudden the snake got out and he killed her. Frani and me were that exited that’s we asked my dad if she could burned her, and he said yes. We start making the fire and we put the snake in the middle of the fire. Then Frani start smashing the snake and weird circules yellow sticky eggs start apearing . There were the baby’s of the snakes that’s we also burn. At the end there were 8 eggs and the snake. We were like hunters. My father make sure that in the hole they won’t appear more snakes.

A few years ago, I was talking to my dad like we always do and he suddenly told me a story from his childhood. He told me that his grandfather's neighbor had a tero as a pet. My dad every time he saw that tero because they had cut off his wings so that they could not peck the inhabitants of that house in the eyes. But over the years, the tero was in very poor health and it was because its wings were clipped, its wings were very important for its growth. The tero could not survive because its health was very delicate.
