My initial reaction to the story's overall setting was that it takes place in the deep south so I can relate to that. But it also takes place in the early to mid 20 century so probably wouldn't be able to relate to that aspect. A few predictions I can make based off of the setting is that there will probably be some openly racist people in the book and most of the characters will probably have a southern accent because it takes place in Alabama.
2. So far, I've learned that Scout is very young and that she lives with her father, her brother, "Jem", and their cook, Calpurnia. I've also learned that she loves reading and learning to read and that she hates wearing dresses.
