At the beginning of a new semester, the principal called three teachers into his office and said to them, "Based on your past teaching performance, you are the best teachers in our school. Therefore, we have selected 100 of the brightest students in the school to form three classes for you to teach. These students have higher IQs than all the other children, and we hope you can make them achieve better results." All three teachers happily said they would do their best.

The principal again urged them to treat these children as usual and not to let the children or the children's parents know that they had been specially selected. The teachers all agreed.

A year later, the students in these three classes were indeed ranked at the top of the entire school district.

At this point, the principal told the teachers the truth: these were not the best students who had been deliberately selected, but merely the most average students who had been randomly selected.

The teachers didn't expect this and all thought they were really teaching at a high level.

Then the principal told them another truth, that they were not deliberately selected as the best teachers in the school either, but were just ordinary teachers randomly selected.

So I realized that there is no such thing as genius, and that the so-called geniuses are the ones who work hard to discover their own potential and change their destiny, while the non-geniuses just keep their potential hidden.
