District of Education and Authority sets meeting’s within the staff and its funders, they also include Elders as chairs and spokespersons so that IQ Principles are being used at the daycare or school to share common Inuit knowledge. -Jean

I want to know how they keep fundings going for the parents to pay a little amount per day. How they keep fundings and how they spend it. I know for a fact that they spend it on food and toys but like how they keep in contact with what needs to be done when a washer or the stairs are broken.

I learn that they set policies, have very strong communication with each other and strong leadership. I learned that boards have meetings if they have any emergencies with anything like Hiring people to work, budgeting.

They fundraise to their whatever they are

“Ex:day care, pre-school,musicians…etc”

What i know about D.E.A is that they get a meeting but i don’t know if its once a month or every 2 weeks.

I want to know if board members have chair person to post announcements or share announcements for public.

I want to know how else D.E.A is helpful with the children, parents and or community members.

I wanna learn about how it is to be a board member.

I want to learn about how D.E.A started doing what they do.

i know that they are resided at the schools in the communities. They help with all sorts of educational purposes and graduates who will physically be there to watch them on that stage:)

I learn that The DEA is responsible for making important decisions concerning the delivery of education.
Examples of these important decisions include:
- Choosing the language of instruction and language model to be used in the school;
- establishing the school calendar;
- developing a registration and attendance policy;
- developing an Inuuqatigiisiarniq (discipline) policy; issuing suspensions and expulsions;
- working with Region School Operations (RSO) to hire school staff (including teachers and principals) providing an early childhood education program that promotes Inuit language and culture.

over 51% has to be parent to be in board of director. They volunteer their time at meeting.

Seven members elected locally, they meet once a month. Elected for 4 years term. And member had to be 18 years or older.
