We made the 3rd Mobility of our Colors project with the participation of all partners at the CEIP EL PEÑASCAL

school in Segovia, Spain, between 10-12 May in 2022.

The first day of our visit started with local dance performances prepared by the students. The show, which became colorful with the participation of the parents, continued with the accompaniment of all partners. The school principal and school staff welcomed us and we met with them.Then the welcome ceremony started in the saloon. The host school organized a separate event for each country. A drama for Turkey, Greece and Sweden, a quiz show for Serbia, and a dance show for Romania were performed with great success by the students.

Afterwards, the students took the teachers in groups and toured all parts of the school. We visited the gym, kindergarten, garden, cafeteria and all other sections by listening to the English explanation of the students and had the opportunity to chat with them. After visiting the school, we entered the classes and made observations.For instance landforms were being studied in science class and we saw that all words were learned in Spanish and English at the same time. We learnt that our host school gives bilingual education to the students from the age of 3 and observed that the language level of the children is very good. In the other class, the students made the famous water channel of Segovia in the form of a puzzle. In the computer class, the students learned the history of the water channels using the Genially web 2 tool. We learnt that students in the 3rd grade start computer lessons and from the 5th grade they use iPads instead of books. In the science lesson, they read the qr codes hidden in the school, found the names of the hidden sea creatures in the codes and classified them on the board. In the mind games class, they set up learning stations and played various games in groups while having fun and learning at the same time.

Thus, on the first day of our visit, we visited all parts of the school and got a lot of ideas about the education system of the school

In the host school's program, it was decided that all partners would teach a lesson about their own culture for Spanish students.Within this concept, each partners entered different classes and taught a tradition to the students by making presentations about different subjects, dancing or singing.Later, we entered the art class and the students showed us how to make a bird with origami.After that , in an other classroom we observed that the students designed and created their own works by examining the works of an artist. Another activity at the school was the students and teachers to design a sculpture together. We designed human sculptures with materials such as wire, aluminum, foil, gypsum cloth and water on the tables.

This is how our school activities were completed on the second day of our visit.We had a great experience to learn, observe and create new things with the participation of all the students of the host school.

In the last part of the meeting, we received a training called The Power Of Art On Me from Catherine Park, an expert from the Director of Warwicle House Language School.The main objective of the workshop was to offer us insight into how art can be used in the classroom and what sort of activities can be done to do this.Moreover she also focused on whether we can teach language through art and presented the apps and techniques we can use to reach this goal.

On the third day of our meeting, we made decisions about the process of our project and we felt again how motivated and collobrated we were as a team.
