This article is an example of the critical housing and worker shortage discussed by Liz Ritchie in the Press Club address. Conflict between regional and state government as the 2024 Victorian Budget did not prioritize regional areas. Beer & Clower (2020) state that "...local and regional based growth is essential for national well-being..." and it can be seen from the recent budget that regional areas are being neglected. This may be having negative outcomes economically and socially for both regional locations and Australia on a national level. (Sofie)
