Step 1: collect 2 sticks with a V on one end (Y sticks), 1 medium length stick, and a slightly shorter stick
Step 2: using a pickaxe, create a hole in the ground that you can insert the Y stick into. Repeat with the other Y stick. Both holes should be filled in with concrete, and they should be slightly smaller than medium stick length apart
Step 3: heat up nails with candle then insert them into the front and back of a gas canister to make holes. Remove nails.
Step 4: make a hole in the soap using a nail, and tie one end of the rope around the soap and the other end around the medium stick.
Step 4: Weave the medium stick through the handle of a gas canister, and hang between two Y sticks (sticks with a V at one end) so that canister and soap are near each other.
Step 5: attach one end of second string to an end of the short stick, and other end around the nozzle of the canister. The stick should now make an acute angle with the ground, with the roped end of the stick not touching the ground.
Step 6: To use successfully, push down on the acute angled stick to release water. Removing pressure from stick stops water flow.

1. Collect materials. You need: 2 long sticks with Y shapes at the top, 2 short sticks, a mini garden hoe, a shovel, a gallon container, a bowl of rocks/charcoal, a bar of soap, two pieces of string, 1 nail, and a burning candle.
2. Dig or poke two holes in the ground using the mini garden hoe.
3. Put the two long sticks into the holes with the Y shapes on top.
4. Using the shovel, put some of the dirt back into the hole to secure the sticks in place.
5. Heat up the nail using the candle. Use the hot nail to poke two holes into the top of the gallon container - one near the front of the nozzle and the other at the back of the container.
6. Use the nail to poke a hole in the bar of soap. Put a piece of string through the soap and tie a knot at the end to secure it.
7. Put one of the short sticks through the handle of the container and put the stick across the two standing Y sticks.
8. Tie the soap to the top stick so it hangs.
9. Tie a knot with string around the nozzle of the water container. Let the remaining string fall down to the ground.
10. Tie the other end of the string to the last stick so that the stick lays on the ground.
11. Step on the stick on the ground to tip the container and let water out.

Using the shovel, fill the rest of the holes with concrete to make the vertical sticks stable
5. Place first small stick on top of the two big sticks, creating an upside-down U shape with the three sticks.
7. Put the end of rope #1 through the hole in the bar of soap, and tie the other end to the small horizontal stick.
8. Tie the end of rope #2 onto the spout of the jug, and attach the other end of the rope to the last remaining short stick, which will lay on the ground as a sort of pedal
9.

Instruction for Making a Tippy Tap.

Tippy taps are for hand washing. First collect materials, you'll need 2 Y shaped sticks of equal length. two shorter sticks, one for across the top, and one to use as a pedal. You will also need a pickaxe, a shovel, cement, a plastic water jug with a handle, a nail and a candle, soap, and some string.
Step 1: Did a hole with pickax.
Step two: place tall y-shaped branch in the hole standing up vertically. Fill hole with cement so that the stick is secure. Do the same with the other y-shaped stick two feet apart. Place the other stick arcoss the top.
Step three: Poke two holes in the bottle using the nail- one goes on the front end and the other goes on the back-this will this help the water pour smoothly.
Step four: Poke a hole through the soap- insert string into the hole so that you can tie the soap to the top stick.
Step five: Lift the top stick and put the handle of the jug through so that it hangs.
Step six: Tie string around the top of the jug that will connect to the pedal. Tie string around the last short stick.
Step seven: When you place your foot on the stick that lies on the ground, it will pull the jug forward so that water comes out.
