Ad Hoc - Man attempted to frame the scene as a burglary and also a murder of the man's wife. Evidence that suggests against this is that nothing was stolen from the house. Objects were thrown around but nothing was taken. The man's statements were inconsistent. And lastly, there was DNA and blood evidence to support that the man/husband was responsible for his wife's murder.
