Strengths:
  • It will reduce the crime rate in Belize. As you can see with Cowboy Bob, he was captured with a surveillance camara.The video has an excellent quality and this will allow to capture everything, so that they know who did the crime.
  • People will act differently because their will be camaras and this will increase the chance of not committing crimes.
  • Evidence will be gathered from the videos with clear recordings.
Weakness:
  • Installing camaras  can be expensive because it needs maintenance and installlation. Also, installing camaras everywhere will be costly. Certain areas will not have camaras.
  • Not having camaras in certain areas, can make people steal from this people because they will not be caught.
  • This camaras can be hack by criminals, so this camaras should be constantly updated because this criminals are finding new ways to commit crimes.
Patrol by the police:
Strengths: 
  • If the police constantly patrol every time the could prevent crimes because people will be discourage for committing these crimes since they will know that the police will be around.
  • People will feel save if police patrolling take place. They police are responsible of the people’s safety.
weakness:
  • Inappropriately of equipment. Maybe the country does not have the adecuate vehicles, and this can cause them to experience some problems. What if they see this criminal but because their vehicle is not in property condition the criminal will manage to escape.
  • It is time consuming. Patrolling everyday can be time consuming for the police and the system.
  •  Also they need gasoline everytime they go out to patrol in the communities.

They provide programs that will give them the skills to be independent when the come out because they might not get a job since they will be label as a criminal. So this prison provide this individual with skills so that the don’t depend on anyone when they come up of prison. They teach them to be independent.

2. When there is visitations, they are properly doing their Jobs. Family members should abide by the  instructions and comply with all administrative regulations so that nothing illegal is entering in the prison. Even the have stricter certain things from the visitors.

3. Prison support them to produce. They show their support by selling what this inmates made at the prison. For instance, La Ruta Maya purchase their canoes and these inmates feel that support. They will see that they are capable of doing everything.

4. Belize has the best model prison for the Central America that is one of their greatest strengths.

5. They have a mutual respect between the inmates and the staff. They communicate with the staff with respect, without shouting or being disrespectful.

6. The have rehabilitation program and art programs which is highly efffective for the prisoners and the community. This is efficient when they come out of the prison, and apply all what they learn in these programs to the society.

Proactive policing, is a practice of deterring criminal activities by showing police presence and engaging the people/ community to learn their concerns. By preventing crime in taking place. A New National Academic report finds that a number of proactive policing strategies are successful at reducing crime, at least in the short term. Research shows that proactive policing strategies that focus on areas with high concentrations of crime do not harm communities attitudes toward policing. Some proactive policing strategies that work are; Hot spots policing, it produces without simply displaying crime into surrounding areas. Also, Problem Oriented policing which leads the reductions in areas. Therefore, these are the reasons why I belief that proactive Policing is the best approach to help prevent the crime situation in Belize.
