The signpost I find the most useful and interesting is the again and again moment. It helps me understand the theme of the story and catch the conflict. Therefore, it will be a better experience because I know what I’m reading. Here was an example about what I learned in class today. “Thank you, ma’am,” Is a narrative about a boy (Roger) who tries to steal Ms. Jones’ purse, he doesn’t succeed nor he doesn’t get prosecuted. The conflict of the story is when Roger tries to steal Ms. Jones’ purse, he ends up being taken to her house and we get to learn more about who Roger is. Roger is a boy who hadn’t really had much success in life, he lives in poor conditions and yearns for luxury. It is shown again and again throughout the narrative. According to the excerpt from “Thank you, Ma’am,” Ms. Jones keeps referring to the incident where he tried to snatch her pocketbook, here is one example from the text, “Well, you didn’t have to snatch my pocketbook to get some suede shoes,”. Another example is that she keeps pointing out that his face is dirty, “Then it will get washed this evening.”
_________________________________
~Julian Fabregas
11/06/17

Leyanis: I find Memory Moment to be the most useful and interesting because it can tell a lot about a character. For example in The Miracle Worker, Annie gets flashbacks from her past and that helps us to kind of figure out why she is how she is.
