         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Reflection on importance of self-care in the helping profession</strong>: Self-care is an important aspect of the counseling profession. When I hear this term, I tend to think of a weekend getaway, a day at the spa, a 5-star dining experience, etc., so for me specifically, the term self-care has always felt a bit selfish. After reviewing the resources, I have a much different perspective on this, and now I know that self-care is more about keeping your own mental, spiritual, social, emotional, and physical health in check.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Identification &amp; description of personal self-care strategies</strong>, <strong>Strategy #1</strong>: One self-care strategy that I use is exercise. This is something that I have done, consistently, for around 10 years and I know for sure that it has provided benefits mentally, socially, emotionally and physically. At the beginning, it wasn’t always fun or easy, but now that I can see all of the advantages, it’s something that I plan to continue as long as I am able.</p>]]></description>
