The cell cycle is the repeating process cells go through to make new cells. It has four different stages it goes through to make that new cell.
G1 Interphase is the first phase of the cell cycle. The cell is normal and growing uses synthesis and DNA replication where the DNA replicates itself in order for the cell can divide.
when the nucleus divides Mitosis/Meiosis: mitosis is a type of cell division that results in two daughter cells each having the same number and kind of chromosomes as the parent nucleus
Meiosis is a type of cell division in sexually reproducing organisms that reduces the number of chromosomes in gametes
Cytokinesis: This is when the cytoplasm and the cell membrane split and two new cells are formed.

This is the stage where the cell is preparing to divide.
S Phase - The period during which DNA replication occurs.
G2 phase - The cell prepares for the mitotic division that takes place in the M phase.
M phase - Cell division occurs during the M phase, which consists of nuclear division (mitosis) followed by cytoplasmic division (cytokinesis).
C phase - DNA replication occurs during the C period. The D period refers to the stage between the end of DNA replication and the splitting of the bacterial cell into two daughter cells.
