We do not have the artilleries and machineries

We cannot go to battle with our second hand aircrafts and ships while our foes strike with hightech battleships and air strikers

We do not have the funds to support our soldiers. We cannot afford medical casualties and expenses given our country’s foreign debts dating as far back from time when our great grandparents were born. The Philippine debt is as deep as Mariana trench

This will add to the multitude of debts the country has historically. But it is okay for as long as it won’t be corrupted which I doubt.

On a positive note, the Filipinos are peace-loving people. History has it. We’ve launched several people power revolutions. We revolt when freedom is suppressed. We fight for our sovereignty. But never in our history and culture have we tried to gain power over other countries. It is not in our blood as Filipinos. Suffice it to say that the Philippines is not qualified to be a superpower. 

So, If I were the Philippine president, I would focus on improving the lives of the Filipinos first. Support free education for the Filipino youth - the future of our nation. Health benefits for the elderly. Attract investors to create more jobs. Conserve and protect the environment to promote tourism. Instead of allowing foreign businessmen to mine lands.
