         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. The purpose would be to share what makes their family special or unique. Possible topics could be food, clothing, holidays, traditions, etc. <br>2. Students will be writing down their ideas with descriptive language and evidence. Students will be vocalizing their ideas through a digital media format using descriptive language and evidence.<br>3. Media that could be used includesPodcast on Audacity or VoiceThread. <br>4. During class meeting, the class will listen to one student’s podcast or digital media each day.<br>5. ELL’s will be able to interview their family, hopefully gathering information specific to their culture (food, clothes, religion, etc.) Cultural awareness will also be integrated since the class will be listening to one another’s recording during class meetings. Literacy and language skills will be majorly focused on through the writing of their script and the speaking of it as well. </div>]]></description>

Other classes will be shown the finished products, and possibly parents as well. <br>5. This will help ELL students think about events that involve discrimination or situations that they have experienced. They are also putting these situations into a story to help bring awareness to other people. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. The purpose is to create a PSA about racism<br>2. Our language goal is to have students recognize words meaning. Choosing appropriate words that do not have not have negative connotation<br>3. Video of students choice, could be slam poetry, could be music video, etc.<br>4. These videos can be shown on a school PSA. Each morning one video will be played on school news until all videos are shown<br>5. We believe this will allow students to think critically about other races and the meaning behind words.</div>]]></description>

There work will be shared with the peers around the same grade, and adults who came into the classroom <br>5. Students will have to use a variety of resources and display their information in at least two different manners.
