It has 4 floors with lots of windows to let in natural light. All of the furniture is height adjustable to accommodate tall, short, and differently abled patrons.  The library is consistently at capacity during non-COVID times, and still sees a fair amount of people each day during the pandemic.

The space was intentionally included in the planning of the new library. The maker space serves the whole campus. The maker space also has the goal of building tech literacy among students to build their 21st century skills. The maker studio has an open-door policy, with curricular integration and academic research taking place as well.

Patrons can create their own patches, customize clothing, and more. In order to create the digital design, special software is needed, but it is also provided in the makerspace. Threads need to be changed with each colour variation, and there are special considerations to keep in mind while using this machine. As part of their training, they enter a completely immersive simulation of an emergency room, with all the sounds and sights a nurse would experience. Recounting a real medical emergency, a dummy patient is brought in on a stretcher, made up to look like they were in a car accident. On one side of the room, doctor's charts and their account of the incident is presented. On the opposite wall, the perspective of the patient's mother.
