Just like people, these rights are for the best interest of the animals. Most countries in the world have some form of animal rights laws which help enforce the rights of these animals around the world, but there are still some places which do not have laws in place to protect these animals rights. Some of the first Animal welfare acts were passed in 1966 which regulates the treatment of animals in research, exhibition, transport, and by dealers. Even though rules have been in place to enforce these laws for a long time, people still decide to break these rules and do whatever they want to defenseless animals who can't even speak for themselves. Peta is a world wide organization who's main goal is to speak for the one's who can't. Peta has reached many milestones since the organization was first formed in 1980.
There are many other organizations (such as ASPCA) world wide which fight both locally and nationally to get rights for animals and to end the needless suffering.
