This is our first week back at college and we have had a slow start but now things are finally starting to pick up the pace. On the first day of the week the week we were missing a band member who was our drummer so we struggled getting the basic baseline for the original music we are planning to make. Then the next day we had a different member of our band missing who was the singer so we couldn’t make any lyrics or have someone singing which is always a struggle but today we had a band meeting and we’ve started to make a song.

3 things that went well:

Once we started to crack down onto making the song we’re making quick progress in about 30 minutes we’ve been able to write a set of lyrics which includes 2 verses 2 chorus and an instrumental which all fits in well. The theme of the song we have written about betrayal 

A second thing which went well is how quickly we can adapt. We all may have different styles of music but when one has to play another’s style of music we can learn how to sing/play along to that style in quite a quick manner for example I play along to and listen to punk music but I can if I have play along to jazz or slow music.

One final thing which went well was listening to eachother. We’ve been discussing ideas all week and have been communicating and noting down all of the different ideas we have had for songs such as themes morals etc.

3 things which need improvement:

Our first thing as a band that we need to improve on is how quickly we do the work. This week has been the first week back and none of us have the energy for college this week and this lack of motivation and fatigue has caused us to work as quickly or as efficiently as we usually do which is a hinder on our progress.

One other thing which didn’t go as well for our band as we wanted it to this week was lack of concentration.  We were much more interested in other things than writing our own songs for example we would just wanna play along to songs which already exists and it distracts us.

One last thing which didn’t go to good was how we all have different music tastes. Our music range is rock,punk pop or anything and they are all very different genres which is hard to play around all of them so a thing we could do to improve that is listen to eachothers taste of music.
