Toni Pepe photographed the exploration of the first round of motherhood. She created a fantasy feeling to motherhood. This photo is mystical and leaves me wondering. The lighting choices create an illuion of holding back. Them both being submerged in water makes me feel like I'm looking into the wonders of an ocean. Separated from us making it a bonding exericance for them only

This follows Toni Pepe's narrative of motherhood from the way she is holding the baby. I get a sense of closeness of the son and mother relationship and yet I'm distant from them. You cam really feel that it really is only them.

This photo has some of the strongest features of the baby. The way that the bubbles were captured give more to the photo. I also like the simpliciy of one colored flowers in the water. To me the water looks touchable and Toni didn't let it overpower over the mom and child.

The use of lighting is so powerful here. Its a pitch black photo in photographed in what seems to be a dark room. The baby is illuminated through the darkness wrapped in it's mothers hands. I love the technique of the lighting usage, and I want to try to shoot the same way. It attracted me, because I've only picked bright photos this far, and I finally found something out of my comfort zone that I liked.
