If I mixed red dye and phenol with each other I believe that the substance would start to bubble and heat up

My hypothesis is that if the two chemicals combine to create a new substance then the red phenol might change the chloride into a more liquid and mud-like form and change the texture because of the color of the red phenol and the shape of the chloride pebbles. - Shohad Hossain

I notice that it was harden after some few day and it was turning into brown and when we when we did it before and we mixed  it turned into liquid and now it is solid

what I observed is that once we put the phenol red solution and mixed with the calcium chloride and baking soda it became hot and bubbly.

In conclusion, the textures mixed together to create this new substance that changed color and started to rise in temperature. When the chemicals combined I saw that the chemicals instantly turned into a different color. The red from the Phenol turned the chloride into a bright yellow. When we touched the bag we realized the substance rose in temperature. There was a lot of gas in the bag and the substance started to bubble. - Shohad
