The first word i thought was important was Bud. i thought the word Bud was important becuase the book is based off the life of Bud Caldwell who lives in a place called the Home. The Home is important becuase like i said its the place Bud has lived for most of hid life since his Momma died. After having a horrible experiance with a new foster Bud decides to go on the lam with his friend from the Home  Bugs to try and find his supossive father Herman E. Calloway. Calloway is important becuase that is the name of one of the main characters. 
  The next important word is Grand Rapids becuase that is the place where Bud goes to meet his supossive father and where he is rejected by that father. After he arrives and is rejected by his supossive father the band Herman plays in, The Dusky Devastators, invites bud to, The Sweet Pea. The Sweet Pea is important becuase that is where Bud has his first real restraunt food. after about a month Bud find sout Herman is actually Mommas father and his grandfather and Herman finally excepts Bud. Bud is transfered to a foster home with the Amos family. The familys son Todd bullys Bud, Bud decides to run away from Flint and go live in Grand Rapids with his supposive father Herman E. Calloway. After spending the night infront of the library Bud runs into Bugs who is a old friend from the Home. Together Bud and Bugs go on the lam and travel to a city called Hooverville where they plan to jump a train to Grand Rapids.
  The morning the train arrives in Hooverville Bud and Bugs try to hop th train but Bud ends up left behind. After the police chase him away Bud decides to walk to Grand Rapids himself. When he arrives in Grand Rapids with a little help from Lefty Lewis Bud arrives in Grand Rapids and meets his supposive father he refuses him. After about a month of living in Grand Rapids Bud discovers that Herman E. Calloway is not his father but his Grandfather and soon Bud is adopted by them and lives a happy life in Grand Rapids with his new family.
