The first unification attempt happened in 1871. The Prime Minister of Prussia was able to achieve this, as he defeated the other nations of Germany. Now that all German states were united, they became one nation. Prussia had a massive military strength, which helped to defeat the others.

The Haitian Revolution was a series of battles between the years 1791 and 1804. The natives of Haiti revolted toward their French owners. Most Haitians involved were slaves. A new country was developed after the victory. They were led by king/general Toussaint L'ouverture.

Italy brought together the Papal states, along with other nations. Forming a new nation called Italy, now all Italian speaking nations were united. The leader of the unification was Giuseppe Garibaldi. Almost single handedly, he was able to achieve the unification.

Leader - Giuseppe Garibaldi

Giuseppe Garibaldi fought for Italian unification. As a leader, he almost single-handedly unified Northern and Southern Italy. Leading an army, he successfully conquered Sicily and Naples with Guerilla style soldiers. He was born on July 4th, 1807 in Nice. When he died, he was crippled with arthritis and passed away on June 2nd, 1882.

Leader - Toussaint L'ouverture

Toussaint L'ouverture led a successful slave revolt in Haiti which is called the Hatian Revolution. With him and others as a leader, Haiti was able to separate from their French leaders. Afterwards, he made himself leader of the entire island. He was born enslaved, but later led in the deadly war against the Europeans. He was captured later in his life and was sent to the French Alps, where he died.

Leader - Otto Van Bismarck

Otto Von Bismarck was the Prussian prime minister. He led the German Unification in 1871. As the role of a prime minister, he assembled an army which then led all parts of Germany to be united. Also, he preserved the peace of Germany and Europe after this. He died on July 30, 1898
