How Can I Learn Photo Editing Skills and Teach Others the Basics?

3 Goals:

1. Research and choose a good photo editing software to use and learn

2. Research photo editing techniques and practice them, creating 1 photo per technique

3. Create 1 high quality photo which incorporates the techniques I learn

Final Project:

Creating a final video with a collage of all of my artwork from goal 2 as well as my final product. I will explain how I created my final product in an educational manner. This video should be roughly 10 minutes long, depending on how long I wish my commentary to be and depending on the average level of experience of the viewer. As of now, I believe my final project will be geared towards people with little to no experience with photo editing in general, so the level of detail will not be too in-depth. However, it will be explained with enough detail so they may understand each step of the way.

Mr. Husain is beneficial because he taught me photo editing before, as he is proficient at it. He also has a lot of teaching experience, so he will be able to teach me further or give me advice on how to learn easier with expertise.

I learnt from him that it is extremely important to work on different layers so as to avoid locking yourself from adjusting certain parts. Also, the value of having fresh perspectives on projects you may have been working on for long periods of time.

Tommy Fung is a photo editor that primarily specialises in transforming pictures of a regular Hong Kong into something surreal. Not only does this show his very innovative and creative mind, simply looking at his art demonstrates his skill.  Interviewing him on how to improve and understanding his unique mindset will be very useful.

I learnt from him that you should begin with an idea of what the end product should be and have structure in your working progress, as well as being able to decide when to stop working on something to avoid obsessing over it.

I will keep the feedback from both interviews in mind while editing to not only have a better product but be more efficient creating said product.
