Description 

DETERMINING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
 Set up, load, unload, hook up, disconnect adjust and operate one or more autoclaves or platens controlling pressure, heat, vacuum and time controls in accordance with specifications, documents and procedures. Check parts and assemblies for proper positioning in jigs and fixtures prior to bonding. Observe all controls, warning devices, indicators and recorders making emergency adjustments when failures or malfunctions occur. 
 
 ASSOCIATED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
 1. Lead and work with lower classified employees. 
 2. Operate equipment to load and unload autoclaves, and to transfer project plates to and from work areas. 
 3. Replace leaking vacuum hoses and connections. 
 4. Record and file data. 
 5. Work from documents, manuals, verbal instructions, etc. 
 6. Make, install, hook up and check thermocouple leads. 
 7. Adjust vacuum control and check for proper sealing. 
 8. Notify supervision and maintenance of malfunctions in autoclave system. 
 9. As assigned, operate autoclaves in accordance with directions from engineers and maintenance employees during development of processes and to certify and check instruments and components. 
 10. Load, operate, unload, set and adjust time cycles on ovens. 
 11. Obtain and maintain licenses, certificates, and permits necessary to accomplish work assignments. 
 12. Assist with the loading and unloading of details and assemblies onto and from project plates. 
 13. Maintain temperature charts, post time and forward to Quality Control with load number. 

 

 • Successfully completed Basic Skills Test, CAAT, or TOWES Test. 
 • Must have successfully completed a recognized Power Engineering Class 4 training program. 
 • Must possess or be able to obtain a forklift operator license. 
 • Must be able to operate a crane and a stacker.
