In implementing shared writing (of a text, for example), students will be able to  show the teacher their level of comprehension for a given assignment. It also motivates the students to share and listen to their peers as the topics are the same, yet the ideas given differ. 

Word Work: Word work is important as words are the tools students use to convey ideas. The more words students know, the more capable they will be/feel when completing a written assignment. Word work will help students in their reading and writing by focusing on spelling patterns, affixes, high-frequency words, and most importantly relationships between words.

Guided Reading: As writing is very important, effective reading is also very important. In implementing guided reading, I will provide multiple models to assist students in fluently reading a text. During guided reading, its important to focus on strategies. During independent reading times, students will be able to implement these strategies and fluently read a book on there own.
