Under the Trump administration ICE was instructed to require Mauritanian immigrants to appear more often, once a month. ICE officers went to their homes and would harass the immigrants. These abrupt drop ins meant many life interruptions.

Under the Trump Administration arrests of illegal immigrants went up by 42% in the first 8 months due to the removal of many formal restraints.
