This can cause you to be imprisoned. Wearing dress costumes can also be violated in some places in Greece. Like us, you can not drink and drive, or smoke in indoor places. This can cause you to get a big fine or in worse cases, be put in jail. Greece has some unusual laws, but similar ones too.

The Ottoman Rule is a main historical event that had happened in Greece’s history. The Ottoman Rule began to spread throughout the Greek lands during the 1300s. These lands used to be part of the Byzantine Empire, which were broken up into smaller states. The Ottomans captured and made Byzantine capital, Constantinople, the capital of the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman rule was only one of the big events in Greece’s history. Greece got their independence from a war known as The Greek War of Independence. The Greek War of Independance started in 1821. The Ottomans and Egyptians were included in the war. The two could not defeat the Greeks or end the revolution. In 1827, six years from the start, the UK, Russia and France agreed to use force if necessary, to end the fighting. The fighting ended and Greece gained their independence.

In 776 BCE was when the first Olympic games were held in Greece. In 1821 the Greek War of Independence started. It was a six year war that ended in 1827. Having the Olympic games before meant that recordings would have had to be somewhere for us to find. Continuing on, in 800 BC, the Greeks sailed to set up colonies which helped set up Greece. Greeks history goes back to BCE which was before 0. This was very long ago and having some events that made Greece how it is today, is very big and important.

In areas with more mountains, the Winter may start earlier. More by South Greece, it usually starts in mid-December. The coldest months are January and February. Spring does not have a long duration. The reason for is because Winter starts late. Summer comes quickly though. In March, the weather changes from time to time but it is often cold. The weather in April is usually the same and does not often change much. As Spring moves on and progresses, the weather changes sharply and quickly. Summer in Greece begins in June. There can be many hard falls. The westerly winds are responsible for the heavy rain and snow. The lack of rain occurs in Summers. The rivers also dry up in the Summers too. Fresh water is sometimes stored in the Winter to use in the Summer. One of the really great times to go to Greece is in May because it is 21 degrees celsius, which is 69 degrees fahrenheit. The most rain Greece might get in May would be around 1.5 cm, or less. These climates usually continue on through June.
