-       Looking Back: Thank you for sharing your journey. I can’t imagine how it must have felt to think you were selected to speak simply because of your gender but after getting to know you this quarter, I know that you crushed it. Your voice does matter and people listen. 

-       Professional Reference:  Maggie is a go-getter inside and out. Her ability to empower others and infuse any situation with positivity and focus is a major asset. You’d be lucky to have her on your team. 

-       Leadership Qualities: I see you as a leader who will not only help build confidence within your teams, but also take care of your people. My sense is that you’d go to battle protecting your team, your family, and your friends and you’d win.

Looking back thoughts: I was impressed by how reflective you have been on your life experiences so far. You are able to easily and succinctly translate these experiences into high-level learnings and takeaways. As a (long ago) former athlete who also placed a lot of identity in that part of my life, I felt your story about moving away from volleyball really resonated.

Professional reference: You have a strong guiding sense of your identity and your values, and you find interesting ways to communicate them. I have been impressed through your uses of different communication styles (quotes, post-it note collage, etc.) to sort through, distill, and convey the things that are important to you.

Leadership qualities: I see you as a leader who makes time to listen to and empathize with others, even when the pressure is high and things are hectic.

Creative: You may use something like this already… but I think it could be fun to add even more salient quotes and guiding thoughts to your daily routine. This is just an example of a plug-in that delivers them daily.

o   I knew Maggie before joining the class and I found her to be upbeat, confident, and easy to get along with.

o   I was surprised that Maggie seemed a bit nervous when she shared her Looking Back. In every other interaction I’ve had with her, she seemed so confident. Just goes to show that everyone is human and gets nervous at times. I really resonated with her Vision exercise when she discussed always having a physical or metaphorical seat at the table.

o   Maggie is an upbeat, hardworking contributor. She believes in always trying new things in her personal life and I know she’d take that consideration into her work life as well.

o   I see Maggie as a compassionate, thoughtful leader who makes an effort to understand all perspectives. 

Able to balance a lot of priorities. Could tell that Maggie is very focused on how to create her own identity and not feel like she should be attached to one activity as her identity.

Maggie is the connector in the workplace. She can meet and get to know a variety of people across the workplace and then utilize her knowledge to bring together people and groups in ways that lead to success. 

I see you as a leader who is focused on helping other people achieve the visions that they have for their careers. By being a guiding hand for your teammates, you also instill tend to be a leader that is very respected and someone who your teammates can come to with any issues that they are having and know they’ll get an empathetic response.

Looking back: I was inspired to learn more about the role volleyball played in your life and how hard it was to rewrite a new story that was separate from that identity. I thought the story you shared regarding the way you were treated as a woman in the workforce was incredibly impactful and important and something you should be sure to continue to share. In your personal vision, I really loved the idea of the extra seat at the table and it is clear that you will find ways to make that a priority throughout your personal and professional life.
