Since wanting to be a 5th or 6th grade English teacher, I thought that this article was perfect and gave great advice. I found this article on Edutopia, and the resource title is called: 'Implementing Blended Learning in Upper Elementary Writing Lessons. This article breaks down for teachers who have been teaching for a while, or beginning, how to easily and more conveniently show their the classroom the process of writing. The article talks about how some kids, can be on different phases of how to write, therefore if the teacher is teaching a phase they already know, that student could get uninterested and not want to pay attention. Therefore, the article recommended having teachers use a blended learning system. This means that the teacher can post, in individual videos, the different steps of the writing system, that way the children can accomplish one thing, and not feel like they're behind their peers. This also benefits the instructor becasue it gives more one on one time with the students!

This article, that I found on Pinterest, is called: 'My 90 Minute Literacy Block' was really inspiring, and even though I'm only 19 and haven't even begun the journey of teaching, this article gave me a lot of inspiration of how to organize my English subjected classroom! This certain teacher went in to detail about how she structures her literacy block into 90 minutes. For her specifically she does 45 minutes of reading, 30 minutes of writing, and then 15 minutes of independent reading. I think that this strategy is so beneficial for the students because like she even said, it starts and ends with the students reading, which is really important if you want to make your students good, critical readers! She went on about how the first month of school, for the first 45 minutes of the block that she helps the students navigate the same reading skill, whatever that may be, but by using different passages for the students. Then whenever she thinks the class is getting the hang of it she will give them certain literature: novels, book packets, etc. I think I will definitely be referring back to this article when I start entering my own classroom!

iCivics is a website that provides free games, lesson plans, and interactive activities focused on civics, government, and history. Students can participate in simulations in which they act as judges, legislators, or government leaders while learning how the United States government works. The website also includes ready-to-use resources and assessments for teachers.

This resource would be helpful in my future high school history classroom because it makes topics like government and citizenship more engaging. Instead of just reading from a textbook, students can actively participate and apply what they are learning through interactive activities. This specific example is a unit they have over the foundations of government which I could use to introduce my government lessons in class. They have many more lessons, interactive activities, and games that are all centered around civics or government.

While it is not something I would want to use everyday, Crash Course U.S. History is a video series that covers major events and topics in American history through short, engaging videos. The videos use humor, visuals, and storytelling to explain complex historical concepts in ways that are easy for students to understand. This resource would be helpful because it offers students another way to learn history beyond lectures and textbooks. I could use the videos to introduce new topics, review material before tests, or support students who learn better through visual and auditory instruction.

This article talks about ways to help your students feel calm and grounded. Students can't focus on the task at hand when they are anxious and their mind is elsewhere. This article gives three activities to try with your students to help calm their minds. 1. Relaxation and body scan 2. Looking deeply at an object and 3. Guess the leader. The article goes into detail about how to do each one with your students and the benefits of them. I think this can be helpful to teachers because students need to feel calm and safe in order to be able to learn.

This article talks about self-paced blended learning. I am learning about blended learning in one of my other classes and thought this article was perfect because blended learning is a big part of education. Blended learning allows teachers to combine different kinds of learning so that their students can succeed no matter how they learn better. This article includes a lot of links to more articles about different kinds of blended learning which I found super helpful.
