La contaminación del agua es una amenaza seria. El agua es vital para la supervivencia de todos los seres vivos. Y las aguas del Matanza-Riachuelo están contaminadas. A lo largo de 64 km de extensión, más de 16.000 industrias arrojan sus desechos al río.Existe una ley desde 2008 con el fin de limpiar el río y restaurar su ecosistema, pero la mejora todavía es lenta.
Así que, ¿qué podemos hacer para ayudar? Aquí, los y las estudiantes de 2do año A y 2do B de secundaria del Sagrado Corazón Al Cal investigan, sintetizan, analizan, dan su opinión, proponen ideas e intentan concientizar sobre esta amenaza. Ellos y ellas hablan fuerte y claro ¿Y UD?

Water pollution is a serious threat. Water is vital for the survival of all living creatures. And Matanza-Riachuelo waters are polluted. Along 64 km of extension, more than 16.000 industries drop their waste to the river.
There is a regulation since 2008 in order to clean the river and restore its ecosystem, but improvement is still slow.
So, what can we do to help? Here, Sagrado Corazón Al Cal 2nd A and 2nd B secondary school students research, summarize, analyze, give their opinion, propose ideas an try to raise awareness about this threat. They speak loud and clear. And YOU?

Vivo en Villa Celina, partido de La Matanza. Tenemos un grupo de personas que limpiamos el tramo que va desde el puente de La Salada hasta las vías del ferrocarril. En los 14 años que hace que trabajo allí, se encontró de todo un poco, animales muertos, los desechos de legrados, basura domiciliaria, y una tremenda cantidad de roedores a pesar de la fumigación.
Para que estemos protegidos contra algunas enfermedades, ACUMAR hace campañas de vacunación entre su personal. Y nos provee de las herramientas para mantener el cauce lo mejor posible. Sólo no podemos trabajar cuando hay sudestada, porque el terreno se pone fangoso e intransitable '

Se tendría que empezar a visualizar la basura que generamos día a día.
Yo propongo para eso que por lo menos, durante 2 cuadras que pongan 1 contenedor de reciclado y 1 de no reciclado.

Con el 46,7%, el plástico es lo que más contamina el riachuelo y con ayuda de los chicos de 2do B estuvimos reuniendo ideas para reutilizar ese plástico. Por ejemplo:
1) Sacar el plástico del río y desinfectarlo para realizar diferentes utensilios de cocina (vasos, cucharas, tenerdores, platos, etc), juguetes.
2) También se podrían hacer juegos para plazas, bolsas, accesorios, sillas, útiles, mochilas, suelas de zapatilla, hélices de ventilador, caños, gabinetes, macetas, monumentos, tapitas de silla, vinchas, botones, marcos de anteojos, ropa, mascarillas, canillas, etc.
