- There is a constant fight over control on the island between Jack and Ralph, like it is in real life between Isis and other military power.

For example...
- Innocent people were killed on island when the little boy with the Mulberry birthmark was killed in Chapter 2. He was killed because the other boys  destroyed a part of the island. Also, when Piggy died in chapter 12, it was a malicious attempt to knock out a "supposed' threat. 
- On the island Jack began to pull the boys away from Ralph by questioning his authority and his ability to keep them safe, he corrupted them and turned them into savages.

Jack talked about becoming one with the prey (chapter 4). He turns savage and animalistic. The Hutu also turned savage and started killing and maiming the Tutsi, just like Jack and his tribe did to the pig(s).

The Hutu overthrew the Tutsi"s control over the government, and everything turned chaotic. This is very similar to when jack smashed the conch (chapter 11)  and gained control over most of the boys on the island.

With the collapse of the government and killing of the Tutsi's, the Rwandan's lost their sense of society for a little while. 1) At the beginning of the book (from chapter 1-8) the boys had gotten along pretty well. There wasn't any huge arguments, they all lived together peacefully. This is like the past connection between the US and Cuba. There was never really conflict until the Missile Crisis.
2)When Fidel Castro took over Cuba, and the relationship between Cuba and the US started to deteriorate is a lot like the book. When Jack takes over and starts to form his own tribe in chapter 8, the relationship between all of the boys fades, and everything blows up from there.
3)Ralph is very similar to JFK. Both Ralph and JFK dealt with the occurring problems very peacefully, but wisely. The smaller kids in the novel have almost no choice but to follow Jack so they can survive, just like the citizens of North Korea have no choice but to support and follow their leader to survive.

Jack's tribe attacks Ralph's tribe in chapter 11. They steal Piggy's glasses like animals and show no mercy, like Isis. Later Jack burns down the island, like Isis burns down buildings.

1) Ralph deals with conflict in a civil manner on the island similar to JFK in the US
2) Jack deals with conflict with the threat of violence similar to Castro and Khrushchev
3) When Ralph/the conch lack authority on Jack's side of the island it is similar to how the US lacked jurisdiction in Cuban waters and had to with Cuba in a civil manner

-In the first chapters (1 and 2) of the book, Ralph establishes a democratic society with the conch as an authority symbol  similar to how JFK dealt with conflict in a civil manner 
- When Jack establishes a separate society (Chapter 8)  and uses the threat of violence and fear to rule it is similar to how Castro was a dictatorial leader
