Dr. Wolfgang Ebell was the Hotel's "on call doctor" for the night. Dr. Ebell is a suspect in this case. He is German and immigrated to El Paso in 1930, 8 years prior to his meeting the Fromes. Also being a German spy for Hitler's Nazi party, his mission was to gather information from Americans that might be sympathetic to the German cause. Talking with the Fromes, he learns that Hazel's husband shared a common German heritage. This knowlege likely sparked opportunity in Dr. Ebell's mind, considering his mission is to gain the trust of Americans that might be sympathetic to Hitler's regime. Also, his career has been quiet for the last 8 years, and he had just made it to his own practice. He likely saw his high esteem in the community as a good chance to begin his mission. Allie Gillespie is a fortune teller in El Paso that reportedly gave Hazel Frome a fortune reading while the Fromes waited for the availability of their car. Claiming to have had seen "enemies in her reading", Allie is given credibility since she described in detail what Hazel was wearing that day. Is is assumed Gillespie was told of Mrs. Frome's husband's affair with  German showgirl, Adelonda.

Adelonda was Pop Frome's mistress. Traveling for a job away from home and being gone weeks at a time, Pop met the German showgirl Adelonda at his hotel. There, they began an affair that would last a couple of years. After a while, Pop broke off the affair leaving Adelonda in anger. She threatened to go public about the affair and tell his wife. He sent her   monthly payments to keep quiet. However, after years of paying his ex-mistress, Pop stopped sending her money, likely leading Adelonda to retaliate. Having a motive and "nefarious associates from the criminal underworld," Adelonda is a serious suspect in this case. However, one detail links another suspect straight to the crime.

Hazel goes to a hair salon. Later that day, the parts to their car arrived and the Packard could be repaired. 
TUESDAY NIGHT: They took a trolley to, again, Juarez and ate dinner at the Spanish Town Cafe. After dinner, they went to a nearby club, where they were reported to have been seen sharing drinks with Romono Trotsky and an unknown man. Once they returned to the Hotel Cortez, Hazel recieved a large plain envelope with no stamps or addresses on it. After reading the note, Hazel was reported to have been upset. She walked to her room drunkenly. 

Romono Trotsky was a notourious criminal and pretended to be a doctor. With over 30 known aliases, Romono fled to Mexico City. He was a broke man, hopping from town to town, stealing loans as he went. He even worked with Dr. Ebell, but they didn't get along. Being a lady's man, he was seen at the Juarez nightclub with the Fromes. There, he learned the details of his trip. If he were the killer, his motive would have been money. However, neither the car or the Frome's valuable items were taken. Jim Milam was an oil-truck driver who, having a large family, worked and scrounged around for a living. He discovered the bodies apart of a search team. However, on Wednesday the 30th, he claimed to have seen the Fromes being chased by a "dark sedan." This connection creates a red flag. Dr. Ebell and his wife own a dark sedan. As stated in the PDF, Dr. Ebell was a Nazi spy whos mission was to gather information from American citizens that might sympathize the German cause. When Dr. Ebell examined Nancy on Friday night (the 25th), he was said to have connected with Hazel Frome. Gaining the knowledge that the Frome's were of common German decent, Dr. Ebell likely saw this as an opportunity to execute his mission. However, he decided not to strike yet. With the help of his enemy, Romono Trotsky, Ebell got the information and whereabouts of their trip. Hoping to finally carry out his mission after waiting all these years, he follows the Frome women. As he attempts to chase them in his dark sedan, Jim Milam sees the event unfold. Once they are out of his sight, Ebell forcefully stops the women and questions them. Evidence showing that the women were tortured shows that Ebell tried to get information from them, however they knew nothing.
