The font itself is strong but elegant, which connotes the readers of Belle and how every female should feel about themselves. This also connects with the meaning of 'Belle', which translates to beautiful in French. I learned from my research that many fashion and lifestyle magazines have this serif type font, and I wanted to use this for my own products, so it is was recognisable to the readers what type of magazine genre I am. I coloured it pale pink, as I wanted it to stand out from the background, but also be rememberable. The masthead is placed behind the main image, because it allows the audience to see the main image clearly, without any interruption from the masthead. I found that many real media products used this on their own front covers, and I wanted my magazine to portray a similar sense of professionalism.

The main image is a close up shot of a famous North East blogger Sophia Harper. Instantly, this will attract people that follow her and enjoy her advice, especially Belle's primary target audience. She is looking towards the camera in the romantic pose. This means she is looking confidently and sexually towards the camera. This pose is only hinting availability, therefore is quite a popular pose for front covers. This can attract the target audience as they may want to feel as sexy as she does, therefore they might buy the magazine , hoping that inside has some tips. Sophia's hair and makeup is done noticeably, but it is not in your face and is quite subtle. I think this adds a sense of beauty to the page, as she looks rather striking. By only adding a little bit of curl in her hair and a little touch of colour on her lips, is promoting to viewers that you don't have to go over the top to feel and look beautiful. She is wearing a plain denim shirt, and black jeans. This adds a sense of being relaxed to the image and her natural beauty shines through. The lighting is also quite bright, which portrays a sense of positivity.

The colour scheme is very neutral, even though it follows the theme of pinks and purples. I used these main colours as it connotes 'girlyness' and fashion. I wanted to use these colours as the readers would understand who the targeted audience is. The scheme also works really well with the model's clothing colour, as it contrasts from one another.

The main cover line is "Belle Exclusive... Sophia Harper", which also has a little sub heading underneath. The type is san serif, which gives the heading a relaxed and girly feel. The main cover line connects with the main image, and this then invites the reader in and makes them want to read on.It is located on the left hand side of the page due to the The Rule of Thirds, this means that when its on a magazine display, in a shop, you will be able to see the main cover line and it attracts my target audience.

The other cover lines are in the same serif font but I have used some words in the 'Basic Title' font, to add variety. These are a little smaller, because if the audience is attracted to the main heading, they also have the chance to be attracted to other things on the cover. I featured an important one down the Left Third, therefore if the main cover line does not interest someone in the audience, they may be intrigued by something else they read.

I have used the date, website address and barcode to all add professionalism to my page. The date informs the reader what issue they are reading and if the information is current, it also allows them to know what issue they are up to date with. Featuring the website allows readers to go on and read the current trends on there if they don't have time to read the hard copy.

It is positioned in the middle of the page, which is the first thing you read when coming onto the page. The colour is the same as the front cover, which again adds a colour scheme throughout that can be followed.

There are several images on the page, which creates a lot of content for the reader to take in. Some are larger than others and emphasising different topics, for example I have used a different image of the North East blogger, to add variety of images and keep the audience reminded that there is an important article with her. All of the images are anchored, which makes it easier for the audience to see what page that article is on. All of the images are my own, which guarantees that they will connect with my chosen target audience.

The layout on this contents page is set out very methodically, and in a specific layout. For example, I have used lists of articles and their page numbers, and the images in selected places. I think this allows the reader to quickly scan over the page easily. Furthermore, the images used are all in conjunction with what articles are in the magazine. They have also included the page numbers, so it if something interests them (image wise), then the reader can easily locate what page it is on. At the bottom of the page, I have included a brief summary of the items on the front cover. This is a good feature to include on the contents page, as if someone was attracted to something on the front cover then they have the ability to go out and get what they like, due to this information telling them where to find it.

The font on the page is striking and easily read. There are sub- headings with details of all the different topics in the magazine. Such as Features, which is in capital letters and in the colour black. This allows the reader to easily spot out a section they are particularly interested in viewing. The page numbers below are also quite large, but are in a thin font, which makes it look sophisticated. A quality women always want to have. The article headline is in the font 'Georgia', creating synergy throughout the page. I wanted to use a simple font that can be used for large pieces of text. The description of the article is positioned below this, so it is simple for the reader to follow. The writing looks like a serif font, as the edges of the letters are curvy, which adds an elegant touch to the page.

The page is a mix of being image and text led. There are three main images of a blogger and other small photos of objects that are promoted in the magazine. This is a really beneficial way of showing what trends are taking place inside the magazine, and again lets the viewer choose where they want to read first.

There is a page number on the bottom right hand side. This allows the readers to know what page they are on and gives some indication of how far the need to go ahead to look for a specific page they may need.

This is done to connect with the other colours used throughout the magazine, and to create a running house theme. The use of pink, dark purple and light pink really compliments off one another, and creates and effective and aesthetically pleasing page to read.

The layout again is very simple. It is a split, image and text led double page spread, which allows the beauty to be seen on the model as well as enough text to make the article informative. All of the text is on the right hand page, which allows the reader to view it easily, excluding the masthead, and model descriptions. The masthead is small and in the top right, left hand centre of the page. This creates a professional feel to the double page spread and follows conventions found in real media texts.

The font is serif and again simple, which adds a dramatic and important feel to the page. There is a smaller description below the headline, which allows the reader to have a brief insight on what the article is about.

The image used, is a close up of the blogger Sophia Harper. She is very popular in the North East, which may attract more readers into looking at this page. Her makeup is really simplistic, I think this is a great message to younger readers, to let them know you don't have to go over the top with makeup to feel and look beautiful. Sometimes less is more.
