         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>A manager is an individual that oversees resources and processes by planning, organising, and coordinating tasks. A leader is someone others are willing to follow as they rule, guide, and inspire others. The key difference is that a manager has people work for them, whereas a leader has people follow them.&nbsp;<br><br>The Situational Leadership Model displays supporting, coaching, delegating, and directing leadership styles. All four styles interchangeable to the situation at hand. I usually prefer to receive/utilise the coaching leadership style because of the sense of collaboration and open communication.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Conflict in the workplace can be positive or negative depending on how individuals interact and handle certain situations.&nbsp; In order to have a positive conflict, all parties involved must communicate, listen, attempt to understand one another and compromise on a solution. A negative conflict would negate all things mentioned above. There would be a lack of effective communication where emotions may govern, and feelings are either disregarded or neglected.&nbsp;<br><br>The conflict that I've experienced during work was the result of miscommunication and lack of understanding. A colleague felt uncomfortable with a few remarks that were made and was afraid to speak their feelings. Due to that colleague's internalisation of the problem, nothing changed and had caused some tension. After a while, the manager had noticed and spoke privately with each individual. By talking to a third party, the colleague felt more comfortable sharing her feelings. Soon after, the problem was brought to the attention of the other colleague and resolved. From then on, there were no more remarks as they took note of how it made their colleague felt.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>What are your own personal motivation techniques?<br></strong>I'm usually motivated to do tasks that I enjoy. Although, when it comes to completing a tedious task, I self-motivate by placing an incentive or reward. For example, going out with friends, watching my favorite TV show, or self-care. By having something to work towards, I feel motivated to complete my tasks. <br><br><strong>Hospitality Motivation Tools<br></strong>The hospitality industry motivates its employees by offering an incentive program, recognition, compensation, and rewards, either monetary or related to psychological needs.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Video Presentation Takeaway<br></strong>The videos on the presentation slides highlight the importance of genuine human interactions between a customer and an employee as well as employer and employee. <br><br><strong>What type of hotel would you like to work for? <br></strong>I want to work for a hotel where the well-being of employees is one of the top priorities. I believe that it is important to take of staff because it translates into phenomenal service. If staff feel appreciated and safe within an environment, it will show in their interactions with customers and guests. I would also like to work in a hotel where I am not punished for mistakes but instead guided towards improvement. <br><br><strong>What is the most important part of any hotel brand? <br></strong>As hospitality is a people-based industry, providing customers with impeccable service makes a world difference. Any hotel can serve good food and build beautifully decorated rooms, but a successful one provides customers with an unforgettable experience through genuine human interaction. Although in today's world, a luxury brand is centered around the idea of exclusivity. It involves the perception of elegance and quality. <br><br><strong>Unconscious Bias <br></strong>As human beings, we all inherently have an unconscious bias from our past experiences. Human nature allows us to learn and grow from every encounter, but it is important to identify any bias, keep an open mind, and respect ideas/beliefs that may differ from our own.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
