It’s nice to have someone believe in you, and your abilities.” Jace says, picking me up by the waist, and hurling me into the air.

“ASH!” I heard Alec and Shane scream at the same time. Just as I land on the rafter in a crouch, there comes a, very loud, crash from downstairs. I unhook the bungee, and jump down from the rafter, which is 30 feet from the ground. I wasn’t kidding when I said the attic was huge.

“ASH!” Jace cries, running to catch me, just as I maneuver and hit the wall with my feet and push myself off of it, flipping multiple times, landing on the ground. Once I’m on the first floor, all I can see is a man running towards me.

“Who are you!?” I demand, as I side step him and grab him by the back of the neck.

“Ahhh!” The man screamed, hitting the floor with a thud.

“Works every time.” I smile at Jace as soon as he gets to the first floor.

“Ash! Look, I’m sorry, I was looking for intruders, I can’t take the chance to not tackle, and inspect everything I see.” I say in a soothing voice. It is fine, Ash. “Woah! What in the name of God, just happened?!” I scream jumping back. Ash, you have the power to communicate with wolves. This power was hidden from you long ago. You’re mother killed herself because she thought you were a monster. As for your father, he hid it from you, to try to protect you. But he only risked your safety. “Well, ummm… okay. Follow me, wolf.” I say, walking back towards the house. I prefer the name; Nightshade. “Okay, Nightshade.” I say, furrowing my eyebrows. I get back to the house, and Jace, of course, is the first one to see Nightshade.

“ASH! You need to be in wolf-form, so these emotions don't kill you! “Then how do I change!?” I yell. Focus, imagine yourself as a wolf. I did as he said and focused on envisioning myself being a wolf, When I opened my eyes I felt, so short. Instead of being almost eye-level with Alec, I was forced to look up at him, I must be a wolf right now. I leaped.

“AHHH!!” Alec screamed, as I hit him full-force, with all four paws. I looked down, and I was wearing nothing.

“Great. Once I was dressed, I jumped out of my open bedroom window, and hit the ground in a wolf-like crouch. Once I was in front of Alec I said “What you did will never be okay. So I advise that you leave my brother alone.”

“So, I can’t talk to him?!” Alec shouted in disbelief.

“You can talk to him, but you are not allowed to date him, touch him, or even look at him in a loving manner. What is a ‘family’? “A family is the human term for pack.” Oh, well, I’m a lone wolf. “Not anymore, you are part of this pack.”

“Pack? That is correct. “Thanks Nightshade.”

“Well, let’s take care of the nuisance in our doorway, then eat, then we’ll get to training.” Jace began walking to the door. “Give me a hand with this guy, will ya?”

“I’m coming, I’m coming. Could I be of assistance? “Can you carry people?” Not really… “Then head up to the attic, that’s our training room.” Okay. “Wait, actually go to the kitchen, we’re gonna eat first.” Okay, see you in five minutes? “Yup.” I say, jogging to the doorframe and hefting Julian up onto my shoulder.

“Ash! Nightshade told me, while silently padding into the room, and sitting down in a corner of the massive room. “Let me show you what I can do before we actually start training.” I say, grabbing my harness, just to be safe, and grabbing the bungee cord. Once I had the bungee hooked up to my harness, I climbed the ladder to get on the rafter. Once I was on the rafter, I jumped doing exactly what I did when I heard the crash, unhooking my bungee, as soon as I jumped. Once I landed, Nightshade stood up. Looking at me curiously. You may not need training, Ash. Neither will you Jace. You both seem ready. I shall take my leave. I am leaving you both in charge in my absence. I shall be back, when I am needed. “Don’t leave! Congratulations, with Malachi, and sorry about your parents. “It’s fine…” I break off. For all the time I have watched you, you have never shown this much emotion before. And I will watch you until the day you die. “But, wolves don’t live that long.” No, but when people with this power are born, an adolescent wolf is created out of thin air.
