A Television- three channels with one perhaps showing cartoons for an hour or so if we were lucky. This was always short-lived as one of your parents HAD to watch the news, or an older brother and sister kicked us off the couch so they could watch their program.
A parent might give you their phone and you could get a shot at the infamous snake game that every phone had in the early 2000s- and that only came along for some of us who were lucky to grow up at the start of this digital era.

Children can gain insights into different worlds at their fingertips. They can see how the children of Brazil live in the click of a Youtube video. Children have the whole world at their fingertips. This statistic shows that almost all of the homes in the USA have a smartphone in them which in turn allows for more access than in the past for children in the world.

From research on the topic, it seems to be different for different people's cases. The summary of this sheet is the age-old saying of everything in moderation. This is great but children are smart and so are the people who create these apps so things slip through the net. Parental supervision should be some of the number one priorities for parents, and parents should know what content the children are watching or what games they are playing and whether they are age-appropriate.
