-Being part of the farm, it is a must for all whom live there to do chores around the farm, each person assigned a new chore each day of the week.
-Once Nasty was becoming to get better at waking up early, doing chores and not eating or drinking like and what she used to.
-As a new way to fix her ways, River gives Nasty a challenge, to go and get a job, which she does at a drug store in the small town not far from RIver's Edge
-Nasty works with only two others, the owner and his daughter. The daughter, Meriweather becomes a close friend of hers, the owner, Mr. Macintyre, if harsh and rude and abusive to his daughter.
-Some sort of magic has become to start and effect Nasty and not just her but also River's Edge. 
-The last straw being for Nasty before she fled River's Edge afraid of putting those there in danger was when she was in an accident, her car was under control by dark magic.
-Nasty has a mental breakdown and runs away into a far back field, there some how her old friend Incy finds her and she goes with him to Boston. 
-Once getting there she meets her old friends, going back to how she was with them, dying and cutting her hair, wearing very stylish clothes over the jeans and flannel.
-When there she notices how psychotic Incy has become and talks to her friends about him. He takes her to a secret lace where people give up their "magic" in a way, or life force per say. This life force if taken by an immortal will make them stronger but it is dark work. 
-When Nasty refuses to do what inch and the other do, and she gets a weird bad feeling about the place, she leaves but Incy seems to have an issue. He puts a binding spell on her and her friends and brings them to an abandoned warehouse, here he wants to take Nasty's power, he kills the two of their friends before getting to Nasty she releases major magic and saves herself.

She is in a way quite immature and hard headed, she was much like a wild rebel teenager  when she showed up on the steps of River's Edge.

Reyn- Nasty refers to him as the "Viking God" for his good looks, he keeps to himself, not learning much about him, he's quiet and does his work, although him and Nasty seem to butt heads they also have an indescribable connection to one another. He is about 10 years older than Nasty.

River- She is well over 1,000 years old, being whom Nasty goes in search for at RIver's Edge. She is very kind, easy going, and very wise. 80 years prior, her and Nasty had met when Nasty had been in a car accident, she offered her River's Edge but she refused and ran.

Innocencio(Incy)- is Nasty's ex-best friend who she originally ran from in the first book of this series. He is younger than Nasty, her and him were best friends for nearly a century. She is trying to learn from her bad habits and instead of doing her dark magic, she is learning to do good magic. Nasty is mostly staying at this hobby farm for immortals in all three of the books in the series.

-Nasty and Incy were inseparable, they were best friends, new anything and everything about each other, did everything together.

When he tries to force Nasty to give up her life first or her friends will die. This being a person vs. person. This conflict ended by Nasty saving herself through a power she didn't know how to use and the people of RIver's Edge sent him away to hopefully get fixed from his mental and magic state.
-Mr. Macintyre had a major attack on Meriwheather, throwing a jar at her that Nasty mistakingly moved with magic so it wouldn't hit Meriwheather. This is person vs. person. Nasty fumed at Mr.Macintyre and in the end, she was fired.
-Nasty learning to change herself and her ways to better than what she was. This is person vs. self.
