I do not think that the government's decision of sending back Pakistani artists to Pakistan was appropriate as-
  • Pakistani Actors, if banned from Indian movies will only bring out bitterness and is a fruitless act to perform.Moreover,Talent should always be appreciated for betterment of humanity whether it be from Pakistan or other country.
  • It will make the conditions b/w India and Pakistan more worse.

I don't think that the government's decision of sending the Pakistani musicians and actors back to Pakistan was a good decision because this goes against the purpose of SAARC which clearly states that the member countries (which both India and Pakistan are a part of) should promote mutual trust and understanding between each other but this act only results in the birth of a conflict between India and Pakistan.

Banning Pakistani actors based on their nationality would be saying that India does not approve of Pakistani talent, which would effect the diplomatic relation of India and Pakistan. India constantly keeps referring to making thing right with the country and banning their actors would be going against the policy of SAARC. 
Along with that, movies have a huge influence on the pubic, especially Bollywood movies in India, therefore collaborating with Pakistani artists meant the public being more accepting to Pakistanis, as Fawad Khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam have a huge following in India.

The Indian government cannot argue that the Pakistani talent was sent back to their country for their own safety. The right to safety is a personal choice, or the choice of your government, and therefore, the Indian government could not impose safety on these foreign citizens.

China and US keep taking advantage of this conflict between India and Pakistan by helping Pakistan attack India. This automatically makes India weak and their decision of sending Pakistani actors back to Pakistan only confirms this fact. Also this culturally doesn't help India in any ways, by being together India and Pakistan can defeat strong enemies like US and China which will also enhance international relations between both the nations.

Not all actors and Pakistanis were sent back to Pakistan. Only famous personalities who proved to be at risk after the surgical strikes conducted by the government. For example, actors and personalities with criminal records had to be sent back due to security reasons both for them and the country. 
The Pakistani terror and prejudice in India was reignited after the surgical strikes. Therefore, various Pakistani personalities present in India received threats from the general public, resulting in producers and directors not willing to work with Pakistani actors. However, due to propoganda the Indian government was portrayed in a bad light.
