I was born on January 17th, 2005 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to an amazing family that has grown me to be the person I am today. My mom is my favorite person in the world. I can go to her and tell her anything and she will always support me. She has helped me to be who I am. She is always calling me asking how my day is and how I am doing.

Broken arm at 5

At 5 years old I broke my arm for the first time. I was getting off a trampoline at my cousins house. I slipped and fell down the step stool they had there. My parents drove me to the hospital where I got an x-ray and had broken my radius. I was in a cast for 6 weeks while it healed. This grew me as a person because I couldn't do all the things I loved and wanted to keep doing. I learned to be creative and persevered through the hold back of this.

Moved houses and schools at 8

When I was 8 years old I moved houses from Minnetonka, Minnesota to Orono, Minnesota. I also switched schools from Providence Academy to Orono Public Schools. This was a really hard switch for me as I had never experienced a big change like this before. I went from knowing everyone in my grade to now not knowing anyone. This caused me a lot of stress. I thankfully made friends quickly and the change wasn't all that bad after a few weeks. This grew me as a person because I had to adapt to a new enviorment and this made me accept change better.

Lots of Traveling (12-Now)

I have always traveled a lot but it really started to pick up when I turned 12. My dad started taking me on all of his fishing trips. I saw parts all over the country and world. Seeing different cultures all over really opened me up from what I'd call the little bubble of my hometown. My favorite trip by far is when we went to Alaska. We stayed with a family friend who lived of the Native American reservation and it was very interesting to see how much different they lived from me back home. They had to catch all their fish and food to survive but they had various systems to do this. This grew me because I not only saw that people live very differently than I do but also that not everything is equal in life.

Start of College

I started college this past summer doing summer advantage. Above is a picture of me and my success coach Torez. Going to college I had a lot of different emotions. I was sad to leave all my friends at home but also very excited to start a new chapter in my life. Torez helped me through all the struggles and the hurdles of starting college along with getting over the fear of being away from home for so long. I learned a lot over my first few months of college. I learned how to deal with things that are hard. In high school I was a very good student but didn't have to do much or try very hard to get good grades. College is very different from high school. You actually have to do the work and have to put in an effort into that work. I struggled with this a lot at the start but I have persevered through these struggles.
