Summary (of text): In 1918, influenza spread through the countries, Spain, France, Great Britain, and Italy. This caused havoc with the military operation during the First World War. The Spanish Flu ended up killing more than 50 million people worldwide, and it hit different age groups. The local couldn't reveal the number of people dying, so they wouldn't panic or fear for their lives. The symptoms were also bad because they were like a cold that ended up getting way worse sooner on.

Quotes:

We stand in liberty to unite as one for the whole world in its need.

Citation:

Author: Sarah Francis

In-Text Citation: "We will fight to help the poor and stop the wicked virus from infecting society."

Works Cited: https://www.paho.org/en/who-we-are/history-paho/purple-death-great-flu-1918

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6477554/

https://virus.stanford.edu/uda/

Summary (of text):

The influence it had on people was outrageous. 2.1% of the global population died in the pandemic of 1918 to 1920. It spread through Spain, France, Great Britain, plus many more. Even healthy young men were getting ill, too; it was said that there was no cure for the disease. It mostly got to the children and the elderly, but it also got pretty bad for adults. People had to wear masks because of how bad the virus had gotten. So many people died when the Spanish Flu came; people had to lie in hospital beds, fearing for their lives. Spreaded everywhere around the world, killing multiple people.

Quotes:

We come as a good, healthy, and important force to fight back against the virus.

Citation:

Author: Sarah Francis

In-Text Citation: "Doctors help us to do more we can, and now it is our turn to help the people in the community.

Works Cited: https://www.paho.org/en/who-we-are/history-paho/purple-death-great-flu-1918

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6477554/

https://www.archives.gov/news/topics/flu-pandemic-1918
