Hi all, I am Dr Lai, the Associate Dean (Employability and Engagement) of the School of Mathematical Sciences, Sunway University. I joined the school in 2017 and have taught linear algebra & applications, advanced calculus, simulation & credibility theory; and have also supervised final year project / research project students. Presently I'm a Year 3, Sem 1 student under BAS. My most fond memory here in Sunway so far was of heading over to rock café with friends after hours to grab a bite to eat. When I'm not suffering at the hands of an endless cannonade of math problems ( send halp >.< ), I enjoy watching anime, exercising and reading a good novel.

My favorite memory will be when my coursemates and I went to different parts of Sunway to shoot a short film for an assignment. We really had a good time exploring every nook and cranny available to make it work!

One fond memory of my student life in Sunway would be when we were all given a Sunway Lagoon pass for free and my friends and I would frequently abuse it to go for a few rides in between our classes.

A fun fact about me is that I don't like to eat durians in their fruit form but I love durian derivatives like durian puffs and cakes.

Hello, my name is Ang Sing Yuin, and I'm currently in my Year 3 Sem 1 of Actuarial Studies.

The fondest memory I have is during pre-COVID, I used to hang out till late night with my buddies (for various reasons: study, gossip sessions, events etc.) since I have been in Sunway for over 4 years inclusive of my foundation. I really hope that as everyone is starting to move back to the norm, that I could experience that again with my friends and other coursemates as I didn't get a chance to, especially since I started this course online during pandemic. <3

My hobbies include dancing, watching movies/animes/youtube and hosting games online/physically. My favourite movie is Ready Player One (which I'd like to recommend to everyone).

The fondest memory of my journey in Sunway was exploring different non-airconditioned study areas on the campus because I am pretty irresistible to the cold temperature in the library, especially on rainy days ><. Hi, I'm Ian and I'm currently a Year 3 BINDS student.

My fondest memory of my student life at Sunway is the Research Report assignment in ENG1114, which is very time-consuming to do. More time was spent on reading the journals/type rough notes than writing the report. I didn't enjoy the process nor the final result. It means nothing to me. It did not hone my research skill.

What is interesting about me is that I was previously an Actuarial Science major (not in Sunway). In fact, I previously spent 4 years as an undergrad in US (and I have completed some of the courses offered in the degree), but none of the courses I took are transferable and I'm asked to start from fresh! 4 years of time and effort have gone down the drain just like that! I completed 27 courses in the 4 years I was there. Its been 9 years since I first began as an undergrad.
