         <description><![CDATA[<div>Our school's name is United Elementary. It is named this because our staff is united in making sure that every student is seen and heard. Our educators have taken an oath to unite in providing all students an equal opportunity to succeed.&nbsp;<br><br>However, not only are our educators united our students are as well. We form a family within these walls and are united in making sure everyone feels included and respected.</div>]]></description>

We establish a strong home connection to ensure family and community involvement.          <description><![CDATA[<div>United Elementary follows state standards to ensure students are prepared for their future with a culturally sensitive approach. Our educators are versatile in their delivery of curriculum to ensure all students are provided with an equal access to learning and representation.<br><br>We have highly trained and effective educators of language arts, math, social studies, science, art, physical education, technology, and social emotional learning.&nbsp;<br><br>We have invested time and research in implementing the most beneficial curriculums for these grade levels. We have chosen curriculums that allow flexibility by the educators to ensure that the content can be accessed by all children.&nbsp;<br><br>Our educators use various methods of teaching such as whole group lesson, small group instructions, partner/group work, hands-on activities, artistic learning, and the use of technology.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>With use of universal design we strive to provide an environment that accommodates and&nbsp; is inclusive to all learners.&nbsp;<br><br>All of our classrooms are inclusive with the support of paraprofessionals, counselors, psychologists, BCBA's, nursing staff, OT, PT, and Speech Pathologists to meet the needs of students with IEP's, 504's, and those without plans. <br><br>Our teachers are versatile in their delivery methods of curriculum to accommodate all learning styles. Additionally, we support the theory of multiple intelligences by allowing our students to be creative in their completion of assignments, presenting their comprehension in their preferred way.&nbsp;<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We recognize that technology is an integral part of education. So here at United we use a grade appropriate Digital Literacy and Computer Science Curriculum to prepare students for the for their future in education and the workforce. With a focus on safety and security, ethics, interpersonal/social impact, digital tools, diverse computing systems in the modern world, and problem solving.<br><br>Every classroom is equipped with personal devices for each students to access throughout the day. We use digital platforms such as IXL, Zearn, and Amplify to strengthen previously taught skills. Teachers also use engaging platforms such as Kahoot and Blooket for content review and/or formative assessments. Our technology allows all students to have accessibility to the curriculum by providing means of alternative communication. Our devices are equipped with adaptive vision, hearing, mobility and cognitive features/programs.&nbsp;<br><br>Our teachers are trained in the use of state of the art technology to enhance your child's learning experience. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We at United feel home connection is essential for student success!<br><br>Families are kept up-to-date with monthly newsletters from the principal and classroom teacher, with academic information and upcoming events. We also use ClassDojo to enable related arts teachers (science, art, physical education, technology) to communicate with families.&nbsp;<br><br>We are an extension of your family and always welcome parent/caregiver volunteers! Classroom teachers will send communication for scheduling, and building volunteer opportunities will be posted on the principal's newsletter.&nbsp;<br><br>Our staff are always willing to meet with, or speak to, parents and caregivers. Your child's well-being is our top priority!</div>]]></description>

         <title>Community Impact</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>United Elementary supports local organizations and charities through student run events and collections. Students have organised clothing, food, toy drives, and walk-a-thons to name a few. These collections are often tied to the content of academic or social-emotional learning.&nbsp;<br><br>We also provide the opportunity for members of the community to come into the classrooms to enrich the students learning. Twice a year field trips for each grade also provides an opportunity for our children to get out into the community.&nbsp;<br><br>United Elementary has a goal to build our students in strong, active community members. We hope to grow change makers.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

Each week I felt more prepared to be an effective classroom teacher, and because of this my excitement grew for my future.
