They can use different techniques to make the products appeal to their selected markets. Marketing has to do with advertising products and the marketing team works on putting together ads for their products. These ads are then displayed on subway platforms, websites… It can all depend on the market they are trying to reach. Certain colours/people/sports/etc appeal to different audiences and so the marketing team must choose these things wisely to appeal to an audience.

Right now, I think that the definition of marketing is when businesses apply a variety of strategies in order to sell a product or service. I think the most common form of marketing is through different forms of advertising such as commercials on TV or billboards and posters shown around highly populated areas. When thinking about marketing, it is important for businesses to tailor the marketing they do towards the target audience the product or service is made for through the way they present the information and how they choose to use various marketing strategies.

They can use different advertising strategies like pop up ads on a website or radio ads, and other more subtle tactics like colouring and design. For example, a food company may make the packaging red since that colour is proven to make you hungry in order to attract more customers. Marketing encompasses how a company promotes their products, and their use of strategy can determine a product's success.
