To reverse image search: first, you right click on the photo and search it through Google. By doing this, you are able to track the photo and see where it originally came from. Second, the photo might lead you to a different source, this means that the photo has been manipulated. This gives researchers the opportunity to prove the accuracy behind a story based on the photos paired with the site/story.

She is obsessed with her safety and being able to find real news will be beneficial and help relive some of her stresses when it comes to her safety. Using SIFT allows her to avoid fake news and only read true information.
