         <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><div>Briefly describe the agency.<br><br></div><div>American Medical Accreditation Program (AMAP). AMAP is a program that offers accreditation to physicians based on 12 core standards relating to education, licensure, ethics, and practice operations.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>What are the overall benefits of the selected accreditation agency/organization?<br><br></div><div>This shows patients and employers that the physician who earned AMAP accreditation exceeds a new national benchmark of quality care.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>Who do they accredit? When was its date of inception?<br><br></div><div>Individual physicians nationwide must apply by sending a portfolio and renew accreditation every 2 years. The program was started in 1998 and was initially on a state-by-state basis but is now nationwide.<br><br></div><div>Approximately how many organizations are accredited under this agency?<br><br></div><div>Stop Americas Violence Everywhere (SAVE), Opioid Misuse, Physician Burnout Awareness.<br><br></div><div>What is the preparation period to obtain this accreditation?<br><br></div><div>Physicians can apply after they graduate from an accredited medical school. If a physician wants to apply later in his or her career, they must meet certain requirements such as no fraudulent activity, no restrictions on medical license, and their DEA license cannot be revoked. The individual makes a portfolio including where they work, where they went to school and any continuing education credits they have earned.<br><br></div><div>List some programs under this particular accreditation.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>American Medical Association runs this program (AMA).          <description><![CDATA[<div>If the Credentialing Agency houses one or more credential for the provider, list them.<br><br></div><div>AMA accreditation and graduate from accredited medical school.<br><br></div><div>What are the eligibility requirements to sit for the credentials (i.e. education, years in practice, fees)<br><br></div><div>50$ for AMA members, 150$ for non AMA members. The physician had to graduate from an accredited medical school. Completion of 100 continuing education hours over the last 2 years. Membership in an organization that conducts pee reviews of its members. Completion of AMAP-approved self-assessment program. AMAP office site review with a score of 70% of better, or practice in an accredited clinic or hospital.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>In brief, what other value does the certification/credential offer?<br><br></div><div>The practicing physician will be up to date with current knowledge (from continuing education). The physician will be able to adapt easier to new techniques and new technology.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>Why are they so important to the hospital organization and or practice?<br><br></div><div>A hospital or practice wants to hire someone who is knowledgeable and is up to date on always advancing techniques and technology. The hospital will have better reviews and more satisfied patients because of the high quality of care from the physicians.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>What are some slight differences, if any, between the credentials listed?<br><br></div><div>AMA accreditation applies to physicians and medical students world-wide, AMAP accreditation applies to physicians nationwide who have graduated from medical school.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>
